Job Title: Industrial Health Officer

Job Description:

The Factory Medical Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the health and safety of workers in an industrial setting. This position involves conducting occupational health hazard assessments, suggesting improvements to management, and ensuring compliance with relevant statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular health and safety inspections of the workplace.
  • Develop and implement general and occupational health procedures and protocols aligned with ISO standards.
  • Provide referral services through partnerships with local hospitals and specialists.
  • Guide management in addressing and correcting occupational health issues.

Operational responsibilities include:

  • Pre- and post-employment medical examinations for employees.
  • First aid care, including emergency medical treatment.
  • Statutory health check-ups and coordination with certifying surgeons.
  • Maintenance of medical records according to the Factories Act and Rules.

Financial responsibilities involve:

  • Monitoring and controlling revenue budgets.
  • Proposing capital expenditure projects.

People-related responsibilities include:

  • Providing referral services with necessary medical advice.
  • Occupational Health and General Health awareness training.
Required Qualifications:
  • MBBS degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Diploma in Industrial Health (DIH) or Certificate of Training in Industrial Health recognized by the state government.
Desirable Experience:
  • Minimum 1-8 years in managing Occupational Health Centres in an industrial setting.
