Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Developer to join our team. As a senior member of the development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-performance, scalable back-end systems that support our maritime operations platform.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of backend services with frontend applications, databases, and other core systems. Your expertise in backend technologies will be crucial in delivering solutions that meet the evolving needs of the maritime sector.

The ideal candidate will have a strong programming foundation in Python, experience in web application development and APIs (REST, XML), and considerable expertise in secure software development and sensitive data handling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to software architecture design and development.
  • Take ownership of product lifecycle management.
  • Implement Test-Driven Development practices and comprehensive unit tests.
  • Build reusable code and libraries for efficiency and consistency.
  • Optimize applications for performance, speed, and scalability.
  • Implement security best practices and data protection regulations.
  • Maintain technical documentation for all systems and processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills are essential for this role. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in enterprise-level deployment and scaling, knowledge of caching techniques and utilities like Memcache/Redis, and experience working on Apache, Nginx, or other web/app servers.

A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field is preferred, but not required. We also value candidates with a passion for learning and professional growth.

Key Competencies

Ability to troubleshoot complex issues, knowledge of secure coding practices and data protection regulations, and ability to design scalable and efficient backend systems are key competencies for this role.
