Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our organization. This role is crucial in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with US taxation and accounting standards for venture capital funds.

The Financial Accountant will work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting, tax compliance, and payroll operations.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Fund Accounting: Manage day-to-day fund accounting activities, including maintaining general ledgers, journals, and financial statements for the fund.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for stakeholders, ensuring accurate and timely submission.
  • Oversee fund performance tracking, including cash flow management, capital calls, distributions, and investor reporting.
  • US Taxation Compliance: Ensure compliance with US taxation laws for venture capital funds, including preparation and filing of tax returns.
  • Monitor and stay updated on changes in US tax regulations affecting the fund's operations and investor relations.
  • Work closely with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure accurate tax filings and tax planning.
  • Payroll Management (Indian Employees): Oversee the payroll processing for Indian employees, ensuring compliance with local tax laws and regulations.
  • Manage the calculation of salaries, bonuses, and deductions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure timely disbursement of salaries and handle all related administrative tasks.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Assist in the preparation of financial reports and audits, providing insights into the financial health of the organization.
  • Prepare budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis to support decision-making at the leadership level.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure financial transparency and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that financial operations comply with relevant regulations, including fund reporting and tax filings for both US and Indian jurisdictions.
  • Maintain up-to-date records and documentation for all financial transactions, audits, and tax filings.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in financial accounting, fund accounting, or a related role, with a strong understanding of US taxation for venture capital firms.
  • Experience in payroll management for Indian employees, with in-depth knowledge of Indian tax laws.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards, including US GAAP and fund accounting practices.
  • Experience with accounting software and tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or other relevant certifications preferred.
