Electrical Systems Engineer

Key Responsibilities
  • Validate and finalize vehicle components and sub-systems to ensure seamless integration.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for effective input and representation.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Packaging high-voltage cables, busbars, and their layout along with plastic carriers for HV & LV battery packs.
  • Updating harness routing and busbar based on repackaging of interface components, coordinating with system integration engineering team.
  • Understanding energy storage system (battery) sizing for targeted vehicle performance.
  • Implementing design changes during program development, prototype, and production build phases according to project timeline.
  • Carrying out stack-up analysis on designed components.
  • Developing harness/busbar/cell packaging, listing issues, and driving resolution prior to validation builds.
  • Creating test cases, design rules, or requirements as needed.
  • Benchmarking and concept development.
  • Working on quality assurance frameworks, request for quotes, and support plans with suppliers/buyers and VFM teams.
  • Creating and managing DFMEA, PFMEA, BOD, and BOP.
  • Ensuring compliance with grade/emc/safety regulations.
  • Designing and developing interface plastics/sheet metal components required in battery enclosures.
  • Supporting part development in-house or at supplier ends.
  • Supporting part testing at supplier or in-house locations according to design verification or production validation.
  • Participating in supplier PPAP activities and periodic audits to improve quality and processes.
  • Supporting builds, creating supply plans for M1/VB and production cars (saleable vehicles).
  • Engineering solutions for build issues and containing/fixing issues on current production vehicles.
  • Supporting circuit schematic creation and validating circuits for full vehicle architecture.
  • Releasing 3D harness assembly models in PLM.
  • Experience with various change management processes like Engineering Change Requests.
  • Selecting harness coverings based on 3D model routing and packaging & surrounding geometry.
  • Developing harness packaging issues lists and driving resolutions prior to validation builds.
