Job Description

The key objective of this position is to provide expert programming support across various projects, clients, and therapeutic areas within the statistics and programming department.

This involves manipulating large databases and generating reports to facilitate analysis by analysts. The successful candidate must possess excellent SAS and SQL programming skills, along with the ability to implement complex logic.

Additionally, they should be comfortable creating complex analysis data sets derived from various data sources while carefully scrutinizing outliers and errors. Prior experience in building patient cohorts and evaluating patient healthcare events in large databases using observational research methods such as epidemiology and statistical methods is highly desirable.

  • Proficiency in SAS and R programming is essential, with a preference for R.
  • Experience in any therapeutic area is acceptable, but rare diseases expertise is a plus.
  • A real-world healthcare claims database or equivalent EU database experience (e.g., US Market scan/Optum) is mandatory.
  • OMOP-Common Data Model experience is highly beneficial, even with one year of familiarity.
  • Strong communication, time management, enthusiasm, and documentation skills are crucial in this role.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Proficient in R and SQL programming, with expertise in Oncology databases like Flatiron and COTA.

Good understanding of Oncology-specific analyses, including Line of Therapy algorithms, Survival analysis, and different statistical models.

Preferable to have R Shiny or Instant Health Data (IHD) experience, as well as experience with Analytic Datasets and patient cohorts.

At least 7-8 years of SAS statistical programming experience, along with database programming using SQL, advanced statistical methods (Survival and Regression), and real-world healthcare claims and EHR data experience.

Desirable qualifications include a Master's degree in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Computer Science, or a related field; training or experience with OMOP Common Data Model, Python, R, Databricks, or other cloud-based software; and pharmaceutical industry experience.
