Job Opportunity:

This role is part of a team that supports project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare feasibility study reports in the agreed format and review with senior or project engineer supervision.
  • Work with the team to assemble design specifications compliant with employer requirements, agree format and content, and monitor preparation ensuring timely delivery.
  • Agree and monitor scope of works with the relevant personnel.
  • Clearly define building requirements and purpose of use for detailed design.
  • Carry out detailed design to WSP and B Regulations standard, ensuring compliance and technical review and sign off.
  • Review and monitor production of calculations, including QA, technical reviews, and sign off.
  • Ensure information for project costing preparation is completed in detail and to deadlines, keeping the team informed regarding design progress.
  • Provide documentary information to assist in tender document preparation, ensuring relevant information is available on time for construction activity.
  • Report any variance between constructed works and design intent.
  • Project manage commissions using applicable project management tools.
  • Lead the design process, encouraging the rest of the team to deliver appropriate and cost-effective solutions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Mandatory Skills
    • Proven experience in Building Structure design.
    • Good presentation skills are required.
    • Fully conversant with technical structural software such as RAM, CSC, ETABS, and SAFE.
    • A sound understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Project is essential.
    • Fluent in English with an excellent understanding of technical terminology.
  • Desired Skills
    • Good management, communication, and technical skills.
  • Qualifications
    • British Chartered Engineer status or equivalent degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, and membership to an accredited engineering body.
Experience:

14+ years of experience in a similar role or demonstrating a good track record.
