About the Role
You will lead a team responsible for managing hostel operations, overseeing key external vendors, and serving as the central point of contact for student and parent-related concerns regarding accommodation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversight and strategic direction of hostel operations from move-ins to daily services and escalations.
- Leading a team consisting of hostel managers, support staff, and vendor coordinators to ensure smooth and student-friendly operations.
- Collaboration with senior leadership and stakeholders to align hostel policies with institutional objectives.
- Primary escalation point for student and parent concerns related to residential life.
- Maintenance of proactive and transparent communication with parents in sensitive or emergency situations.
- Buinding confidence and trust across all stakeholder groups through consistent delivery and empathetic engagement.
- Oversight of third-party vendors and partners involved in housekeeping, security, food, and maintenance.
- Review and approval of standard operating procedures, incident reports, safety checks, and compliance protocols.
- Fostering a positive residential culture that is inclusive, respectful, and aligned with student well-being.
- Designing initiatives to gather feedback, address grievances efficiently, and continuously improve the residential experience.
- Collaboration with student councils or committees where necessary to promote a collaborative campus environment.
- Presentation of regular reports on hostel performance, grievances, service levels, and student satisfaction.
- Tracking of KPIs and use of data-driven insights to enhance processes and policies.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- A minimum of 4–8 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role in hospitality, luxury housing, student co-living, or client experience.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to handle both student concerns and high-touch parent interactions with confidence and empathy.
- Demonstrated ability in leading teams, managing vendors, and achieving results through others.
- Strong conflict resolution, prioritization, and people management skills.
