IT Security Specialist Role

Job Title: IT Security Specialist – Cybersecurity Consultant

Location: Remote Work Opportunity

Experience Required: 3+ Years

Role Overview

As an experienced IT Auditor, you will join our team as an IT Security Specialist to perform comprehensive IT and cybersecurity audits. Your key responsibilities include assessing risks, evaluating controls, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and implementing corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough IT and cybersecurity audits of infrastructure, applications, networks, and security controls.
  • Assess IT general controls, security configurations, and vulnerability management processes.
  • Review and evaluate cybersecurity frameworks and compliance requirements (ISO 27001, NIST, COBIT, PCI DSS, etc.).
  • Perform risk assessments, identify control gaps, and implement remediation actions.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports highlighting findings, recommendations, and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with IT and Security teams to ensure the implementation of corrective actions.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in IT audit, cybersecurity audit, or information security assessments.
  • Knowledge of ITGC, application controls, and cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Familiarity with tools and techniques for vulnerability assessment and penetration testing.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Professional certifications such as CISA, CISM, CISSP, ISO 27001 LA, or CEH.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and report writing skills.
