Senior Controls Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Controls Engineer to take on the overall responsibility for developing and managing control software in an industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement clean-sheet automation systems from concept through production.
  • Translate customer requirements into design specifications, evaluate design feasibility, and provide technical expertise to meet customer requests.
  • Design and develop electrical systems for custom automation solutions, ensuring optimal functionality and reliability.
  • Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, robotics, vision systems, and other control devices to ensure precise control.
  • Conduct thorough testing and validation of control systems and provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and maintenance.
  • Be responsible for full system programming, testing, debugging, commissioning, installation, and upgrades.
  • Perform design reviews with internal and external customers.
  • Create and review detailed Bills of Materials (BOM) for accuracy.
  • Maintain project schedule milestones and achieve cost targets through effective design.
  • Stay up-to-date with leading-edge technology and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Manage assigned projects and deliver to the agreed schedule and scope.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong hands-on experience in designing, programming, and implementing control systems for custom automation projects.
  • Extensive experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers and software developers.
  • Proficiency with automation software from any of the following: Siemens, AB Rockwell, Beckhoff, B&R, or Sigmatek, or a combination of two.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of PLC programming and HMI/SCADA development.
  • Strong understanding of custom automation requirements with a systems-level approach to machine programming.
  • Experience in robotics, automation systems, vision systems, and servo controls.
  • Excellent documentation skills, including the creation of control system architecture diagrams, wiring schematics, and user manuals.
  • Competent skills with PCs, networking, device communications, and design.
  • Working knowledge of E-Plan or AutoCAD Electrical is an added advantage.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Must be a responsible, self-driven, and self-motivated individual who can work independently.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering or Instrumentation and Controls Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
