Job Overview

The Chief Academic Officer leads with purpose, vision, and heart as the top executive and academic head at a medical university.

This role involves overseeing various responsibilities including academics and research excellence, operations, student experience, success, well-being, and global partnerships.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develops and implements strategic plans to align the university with global standards and emerging trends in education and healthcare.
  • Drives continuous improvement of curriculum design, pedagogy, and assessment based on learning outcomes, technological advancements, and industry needs.
Research Development
  • Builds a vibrant research culture by supporting faculty and students in scholarly activities, publishing, and securing research funding.
  • Strengthens institutional frameworks and administrative systems to facilitate cutting-edge research and seamless academic operations.
Institutional Governance and Compliance
  • Ensures compliance with statutory, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
  • Oversees the functioning of statutory bodies such as the Academic Council, Finance Committee, and Board of Management with a focus on governance, transparency, and accountability.
External Engagement
  • Represents the university at national and international platforms to build visibility and reputation.
  • Establishes partnerships with academic institutions, healthcare providers, research bodies, and industries to support student internships, placements, and knowledge exchange.
Student Success
  • Champions student welfare, mentoring, career readiness, and holistic development.
  • Creates a safe, inclusive, and intellectually stimulating campus environment.
Qualifications and Experience
  • A distinguished academician with teaching experience in a reputable institution within a private university system.
  • A medical Doctor or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from a premier institution with experience in academic education, research, curriculum development, administration, and management.
  • Minimum 10+ Years of experience as a professor or equivalent positions held in a university system or reputed research or academic administrative organizations.
