Director of Event Operations

Job Overview:

This role entails overseeing the strategic direction and operational execution of events within the MICE division.

Main Responsibilities include managing event logistics, leading a team of operations professionals, collaborating with sales and marketing, negotiating contracts, conducting site assessments, monitoring efficiency, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

  • Coordinate event planning, vendor management, budgeting, and team supervision for MICE events.
  • Provide guidance, motivation, and performance evaluation to the operations team.
  • Align operational execution with business objectives through collaboration with sales, marketing, and client relations.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers, venues, and service providers to secure competitive rates and quality services.
  • Evaluate venues and ensure all event requirements are met during site visits.
  • Monitor and evaluate operational efficiency, implementing process improvements and driving cost optimization.
  • Oversee adherence to safety, legal, and quality standards during event execution.
  • Develop contingency plans for seamless event delivery.
  • Present operational reports and MIS to senior management and clients.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 7-10 years in event operations or related roles, with 3+ years in MICE operations leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of the MICE industry, event management best practices, and vendor management.
  • Proven leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, event management software, and reporting tools.
