Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. PV Design Engineer to join our team at DCS Group. As a Sr. PV Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing photovoltaic (PV) systems for our clients. This is a mid-level position requiring 4 to 6 years of experience in the field. The role is based in Hyderabad, Telangana, India and is a full-time position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop photovoltaic (PV) systems for clients based on their requirements and site conditions
  • Conduct detailed site surveys to assess the feasibility of PV system installations
  • Prepare technical drawings, layouts, and specifications using AutoCAD and other design software
  • Perform solar energy calculations, including system sizing, shading analysis, and energy yield estimation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, project managers, and construction teams to ensure successful project execution
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations in the design of PV systems
  • Manage and review the work of junior design engineers and provide guidance and support as needed
  • Stay updated with the latest PV technologies, industry trends, and best practices
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and tools

Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • 4 to 6 years of experience in PV system design and engineering
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with utility PV system design and AC LT/HT systems design up to 33kv
  • Experience with Megawatt Scale and kilowatt scale PV projects
  • Knowledge of solar energy principles, PV technology, and industry standards
  • Ability to conduct site surveys and perform energy yield estimation
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet project deadlines

Additional Requirements:
  • Megawatt Scale experience is required, kilowatt scale experience is Plus
  • Up to date with current technology trends in PV industry
  • Should possess good knowledge of international codes & standards
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Motivated to learn new skill sets and expand
  • Detailed design of solar PV Plants of kW & MW Scale
  • Preparation, optimization and review of shadow analysis, capacity estimations, design, layout, and drawings
  • Conduct engineering site audits to collect structural, electrical, and related site information for use in the design of solar power systems
  • Collect data about project sites Design or coordinate design of photovoltaic (PV) systems, including system components
  • Assist the sales team in understanding the engineering impacts of site specific or customer, specific requirements, preparing cost estimates and technical proposals
  • Assist project managers and construction managers with the successful completion of projects and participate in the resolution of field related issues that require engineering input
  • Undertake Due Diligence analysis of PV Plants
  • Preparation of annual and long-term solar energy assessments, using PVsyst and other modelling tools. Strong analytical skills and an aptitude for analyzing statistical data
  • Should be capable to prepare Plant BoM and TL, Substation BoM, Equipment Selection, string sizing, cable sizing, Transformer, HT Panel selection, & Battery sizing, Lightning & Earthing sizing
  • Should be familiar with IS, IEC codes
  • Development of technical specifications and scope of work documentation for solar PV projects
  • Review specifications and recommend engineering or manufacturing changes to achieve solar design objectives
  • Experience on BESS technologies will be an added advantage
  • Develop standard operation procedures and quality or safety standards for solar installation work
  • Create checklists for review or inspection of completed solar installation projects. Inspect finished products to locate flaws
  • Test or evaluate photovoltaic (PV) cells or modules. Perform cost reduction analyses for solar systems. Analyze costs and benefits of proposed designs or projects
