IT Administrator Role Summary

This entry-level IT Administrator position is ideal for candidates with 2 to 3 years of experience in IT administration. As an IT Administrator, you will assist in maintaining the company's IT infrastructure, supporting end-users, and ensuring smooth IT operations.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Providing first-level technical support to employees for hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Maintaining computers, servers, and networking equipment.
  • Installing and updating software across the company's systems.
  • Troubleshooting basic IT problems related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
  • Ensuring regular data backups and contributing to the company's data security efforts.
  • Maintaining accurate records of IT assets, issues, and resolutions in a ticketing or documentation system.
  • Assisting in monitoring and maintaining the company's local area network (LAN) and internet connectivity.
  • Supporting basic IT security tasks, such as ensuring antivirus updates and security patches are applied.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in IT support or administration.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
  • Network concepts (e.g., IP addresses, DNS, routers, switches).
  • Hardware components (e.g., computers, printers, servers).
  • Office productivity software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills to interact with non-technical staff.
  • Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions.
