">About the Role:- We are seeking an experienced Surgical Scrub Nurse to join our theatre team. As a key member of the surgical team, you will be responsible for preparing the operating theatre, assisting during procedures, and maintaining a sterile environment at all times.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. You will be expected to work closely with surgeons, anesthetists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
">Key Responsibilities:- Prepare the Operating Theatre: Ensure that all necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are sterile and ready for surgical procedures.
- Assist During Surgery: Pass instruments, sponges, and other materials in a sterile manner to support the surgical team.
- Maintain a Sterile Field: Ensure that the operating theatre remains sterile throughout the surgical procedure.
- Patient Safety: Monitor vital signs and assist with positioning and draping as required to ensure patient safety.
- Anticipate Needs: Work closely with the surgical team to anticipate their needs during surgery.
- Document Procedures: Document the surgical procedure, including the count of surgical instruments, sponges, and sharps.
- Clean and Maintain Equipment: Participate in the cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of surgical instruments and equipment post-surgery.
- Prepare Patients: Assist in preparing patients for surgery by ensuring proper preparation, including skin preparation and draping.
- Monitor Patient Records: Monitor and maintain patient records related to surgery, such as anesthesia records and surgical counts.
- Follow Protocols: Follow all safety protocols and infection control procedures to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a safe environment.
- Post-Operative Care: Assist with post-operative care, including ensuring the smooth transition of patients from the operating theatre to recovery areas.
- Professional Development: Attend staff development programs, training, and meetings to stay current with surgical nursing practices and innovations.
Requirements:
- Educational Qualification: Diploma or Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Certifications: Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is preferred.
