Role Summary

Surgical coding is a crucial aspect of healthcare, ensuring accurate representation of patient procedures and treatments.

This role involves developing in-depth knowledge of surgical coding concepts and guidelines to assign accurate codes for various surgical procedures.

  • Develop In-Depth Knowledge: Gain comprehensive understanding of surgical coding principles and guidelines to ensure accuracy and efficiency in coding processes.
  • Assign Accurate Codes: Utilize expertise in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology to accurately assign codes for different surgical procedures, including SDs, E/M surgery, IP-surgery, OP-surgery, and anesthesia.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to resolve coding-related issues and improve overall coding quality.
Requirements
  • Experience: 1-8 years of experience in surgical coding, with a strong understanding of coding principles and guidelines.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Coding Systems: Knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding systems.
  • Coding Software: Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs) and coding software.
