Job Role:

The Electrical Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all electrical maintenance activities in the plant. This includes participating in the development of maintenance plans, directing the implementation of these plans, examining equipment performance, and providing recommendations to enhance maintainability, reliability, and minimize maintenance costs.

Main Responsibilities & Expectations

Maintenance Activity Management

  • Create and implement detailed maintenance procedures and practices ensuring safe execution of tasks.
  • Ensure timely execution of preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
  • Monitor electronic and hard copy records for all equipment and conduct regular surveys by team members.
  • Optimize maintenance frequencies based on equipment history or regular monitoring surveys.
  • Coordinate with other departments to arrange for plant shutdowns, including participation in shutdowns and major overhauls.

Stores Consumables Management

  • Evaluate requirements for new equipment or repairs, propose alternatives, and provide recommendations.
  • Ensure material availability and adherence to required standards and specifications.
  • Optimize consumables consumption as per the annual business plan.

5S & Safety Standards

  • Conduct 5S activities daily in the shop floor area.
  • Ensure use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety gear by employees.
  • Provide PEP talks / TBT before starting operational/maintenance activities.

Innovation, Automation & Continuous Improvement

  • Drive continuous improvement projects for improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Perform quality control analysis and suggest changes in production processes.
  • Encourage team members for maximum participation in improvement projects.

People Management

  • Complete department performance reviews on time.
  • Assess individual skills and work towards improvement.
  • Engage team members in employee engagement activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  1. Bachelor of Engineering – Electrical, Instrumentation degree.
  2. 15-20 years of experience in Cold Rolling Mill Electrical Maintenance.

Key Requirements

The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in electrical engineering and have extensive experience in cold rolling mill electrical maintenance. A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or instrumentation is mandatory. The selected candidate will be expected to develop and implement effective maintenance strategies, manage stores consumables, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
