Job Summary

In this role, you will be responsible for managing supplier performance and ensuring that it meets or exceeds expectations. This involves monitoring supplier delivery performance, quality, and cost to ensure that they are aligned with company requirements.

You will work closely with the commodity management, global sourcing, and factory support teams to develop and manage the supply chain for raw materials and finished goods. Your goal is to lead supplier development efforts in terms of quality, supply chain speed, delivery, and cost.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Ensure supplier delivery performance meets/exceeds expectations through the entire lifecycle of the relationship.
  • Work with suppliers to improve flexibility and quick response to manufacturing sites globally.
  • Review and audit supplier processes and identify improvements for tangible productivity gains.
  • Support Actuation's Global Strategic Sourcing Commodity Team.
  • Work with suppliers to improve supplier capacity and capability adequately support material needs and availability globally.
  • Define and measure performance through supplier scorecards, where sustainability, quality, operational, innovation, and financial metrics are integrated and supported by data.
  • Take appropriate, timely, and effective actions to resolve issues impacting quality, delivery, or cost.

Requirements:

  • Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret engineering drawings, quality systems requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Ability to understand component requirements and communicate requirements to suppliers.
  • Proven communication and teamwork skills enabling effective working relationships.
  • Solid understanding on MRP (Oracle) and MS Office software like MS Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a technical field, MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 5-10 years experience in supplier improvement efforts with demonstrated analytical, communication, project management, and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9002 Quality System / PED / API6DX / NACE certification programs and working knowledge of supplier and process audits.
  • Solid understanding of Lean/Six Sigma tools and techniques.
  • An understanding of the end-to-end supply chain.
