">Job Opportunity: Active Directory Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Active Directory Specialist to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to work on an enterprise migration initiative involving two separate Active Directory forests and a transition toward Entra ID and PaaS-based DNS.

This role involves working closely with our architect and infrastructure teams to execute migration plans, automate key workflows, and troubleshoot complex identity-related issues in a secure and regulated environment.

">Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform hands-on analysis and documentation of existing AD and DNS environments
  • Implement domain controller migrations and replication setup across multiple AD forests
  • Support the integration and migration to Entra ID (Azure AD)
  • Assist in transitioning DNS from Windows to a PaaS-based solution
  • Configure and manage DHCP scopes, conditional forwarders, and stub zones
  • Troubleshoot issues with LDAP, Kerberos, and NTLM-based authentication
  • Write and maintain PowerShell scripts for provisioning and automation
  • Execute infrastructure-as-code via Terraform within existing CI/CD pipelines
  • Follow detailed implementation plans created by the architect or lead
  • Collaborate with team members through Jira, participate in daily standups, and maintain accurate technical documentation

Requirements:

  • 5 - 10 years of hands-on experience with Active Directory (multi-domain or multi-forest environments)
  • Solid understanding of:
    • Active Directory
    • Entra ID (Azure AD)
    • PKI and NPS
    • DNS & DHCP (Windows Server and/or PaaS alternatives)
    • LDAP, Kerberos, and NTLM protocols
    • Understanding of identity protocols: OIDC, OAuth2, SAML
  • Experience with AD Trusts, Group Policy, OUs, and FSMO roles
    • Strong PowerShell scripting skills
    • Comfortable navigating both legacy and modern hybrid cloud setups

Bonus Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Terraform and infrastructure-as-code concepts
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps preferred)
  • Experience with hybrid identity platforms (e.g., Azure AD Connect, ADFS)
  • Exposure to large-scale migrations of legacy apps dependent on AD
  • Awareness of IT compliance/governance in cloud-native infrastructure
