Job Title: Renewable Energy Specialist

Our organization is seeking a skilled Renewable Energy Specialist to oversee solar power system installations, testing, and maintenance in Liberia.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in solar PV systems and a solid understanding of electrical engineering principles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and monitor solar PV electrical works on-site, including panel installation and cable routing.
  • Review and interpret solar electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and layout plans.
  • Oversee LV/MV system installation, grounding/earthing systems, protection systems, and monitoring equipment.
  • Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and commissioning teams for integrated project delivery.
  • Conduct pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, including insulation resistance tests and inverter testing.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance for quality workmanship and safety standards.
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with international standards (IEC, NEC), local regulations, and solar industry best practices.
  • Maintain accurate site logs, quality reports, material inspections, and testing records.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and propose practical on-site solutions.
  • Implement HSE procedures during electrical installations and inspections.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; Master's preferred.
  • 10 years of experience in solar PV system installation and supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of solar PV components (inverters, modules, combiner boxes).
  • Familiarity with electrical safety standards and testing equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and construction drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Will to be based on-site in Liberia.
