About this role

We're looking for a seasoned Product Security Engineer to join our team and lead the development of secure products. As a key member of our security team, you'll be responsible for championing security throughout our product lifecycle.

Your primary focus will be on identifying and mitigating risks, ensuring our products are secure and compliant with industry standards. You'll work closely with engineering, product management, and other stakeholders to develop and implement comprehensive product security strategies.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our company's security posture and contribute to the development of secure software development life cycle (SDLC) principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead security assessments, threat modeling, and penetration testing activities to identify vulnerabilities and ensure our products meet security requirements.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive product security strategies, aligning them with business objectives and industry best practices.
  • Maintain secure coding practices and security engineering standards for the development team, ensuring they follow secure SDLC principles.
  • Automate repetitive processes and write internal tools to boost productivity and visibility.
  • Foster a culture of security awareness within product teams and educate them on security best practices.
  • Collaborate with product managers to integrate security considerations into the product development lifecycle.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest security threats and vulnerabilities and proactively address them.
  • Manage and prioritize product security vulnerabilities, working with engineering teams to implement effective remediation plans.
Requirements
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in product security or a related field.
  • Proven experience in security assessments, threat modeling, code reviews, and penetration testing methodologies.
  • In-depth understanding of secure coding practices and SDLC principles.
  • Scripting experience in Bash, Python, etc.
  • Experience in AWS infrastructure security is an added advantage.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively influence cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A passion for building secure products and fostering a security-conscious culture.
  • Experience with common security tools and frameworks (e.g., OWASP, CWE) is a plus.
  • Certifications in security (e.g., OSCP) is a plus.
