Data Model Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Model Architect to lead our data modeling initiatives and shape our data architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of data modelers, fostering a collaborative environment and driving high-performing results.
  • Data Model Design: Oversee the design and development of conceptual, logical, and physical data models for complex enterprise data warehouses, data lakes, and transactional systems.
  • Architectural Guidance: Define and enforce data modeling standards, best practices, and governance policies across projects.
  • Requirements Translation: Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and application development teams to translate complex business requirements into efficient data models.
  • Performance Optimization: Ensure data models are optimized for performance, scalability, and data integrity.
  • Tooling & Technology: Evaluate and recommend data modeling tools and technologies to enhance team efficiency and output.
  • Documentation: Ensure comprehensive documentation of data models, metadata, and data dictionaries.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in data modeling, with a proven track record of leading data modeling teams.
  • Expertise in designing conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Strong understanding of various data modeling techniques (e.g., Dimensional Modeling, ER Modeling, Data Vault).
  • Proficiency with data modeling tools (e.g., Erwin, PowerDesigner, Sparx Enterprise Architect).
  • Experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and big data technologies.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
