API Integration Director

About the Role:

This position involves leading middleware-based API and system integrations for a WealthTech platform. As an expert in this domain, you will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of integration projects.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Oversee integration projects with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and secure rollouts.
  • Define project scope, milestones, and success metrics for middleware/API integrations.
  • Coordinate requirements between developers and business teams to deliver seamless middleware services.
  • Manage integration workstreams: real-time APIs, batch jobs, Kafka/RabbitMQ, SFTP.
  • Validate data contracts, mapping, and transformation rules to maintain data integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with API security, data privacy, and operational risk standards.
  • Document touchpoints, workflows, and SLAs for future reference.
  • Communicate risks, blockers, and delivery status to senior stakeholders effectively.
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 8–10 years of IT experience, with at least 5+ years in project/program management of API & middleware integrations.
  • Mandatory: Experience in wealth management / WealthTech / BFSI investment domain.
  • Strong understanding of system integration techniques (APIs, message queues, SFTP).
  • Familiarity with API management tools (Kong, Apigee, AWS API Gateway).
  • Exposure to Node.js-based architectures, Kafka, RabbitMQ.
  • Knowledge of financial data formats (FIX, OFX, JSON, XML).
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and delivery skills.
