About this role

Clarien Bank is seeking a Project Manager to lead their compliance program for the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of the project. This role requires a strong understanding of data privacy regulations, including PIPA, GDPR, and other similar frameworks.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing regulatory or compliance-driven projects in the financial services sector. You should possess excellent stakeholder management, communication, and documentation skills. Ability to translate legal and regulatory requirements into actionable business processes is also essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the implementation of the PIPA compliance framework across all business units within Clarien Bank.
  • Conduct a comprehensive assessment of current data privacy policies, systems, and processes to identify gaps against PIPA requirements.
  • Work with Legal, Risk, IT Security, Compliance, and Business Units to define and implement appropriate controls for data collection, storage, access, and sharing.
  • Oversee the development of data mapping and inventory to identify all personal data processed by the organization.
  • Establish governance structures, reporting mechanisms, and escalation paths to ensure compliance tracking and accountability.
  • Manage vendor relationships and third-party assessments related to data processing and privacy.
  • Design and facilitate training and awareness programs for staff on data protection principles and responsibilities under PIPA.
  • Prepare project plans, status reports, risk registers, and ensure timely delivery within scope.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven experience managing regulatory or compliance-driven projects in the financial services sector.
  • In-depth understanding of data privacy regulations (PIPA, GDPR, or similar).
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to translate legal and regulatory requirements into actionable business processes.
