Cloud Infrastructure Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Infrastructure Specialist to design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure using VMware technologies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with vSphere administration, practical vSAN operations experience, working knowledge of NSXT, and experience with vROps/vRealize Operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor and troubleshoot vSphere, vSAN, NSX, and vROps components for optimal performance and reliability.
  • Routine Health Checks: Perform routine health checks and remediation across the stack.
Infrastructure Administration:
  • vSphere: Configure clusters, resource pools, DRS/HA, vMotion/storage vMotion, templates, and VM lifecycle.
  • vSAN: Manage storage policies, capacity planning, resync monitoring, and performance troubleshooting.
  • NSX (NSXT): Configure segments/overlays, T0/T1 gateways, distributed firewall rules, NAT, and basic load balancing concepts.
  • vROps / Aria Operations: Create dashboards, tune alerts, perform capacity/performance analytics, and generate reports.
Security & Compliance:
  • Implementation and Validation: Implement and validate basic firewall rules and segmentation policy in NSX per standards.
  • Adherence to Customer Practices: Adhere to customer change control, audit, and security practices.
Stakeholder Management & Handover:
  • Status Updates and Reporting: Provide status updates, capacity/performance reports, and knowledge base articles.
  • Knowledge Transfer: Conduct knowledge transfer to customer operations teams.

The must-have skills include strong hands-on experience with vSphere administration, practical vSAN operations experience, working knowledge of NSXT, and experience with vROps/vRealize Operations. Solid understanding of data center networking fundamentals and storage basics is also required. Comfortable with change/incident processes and writing/runbook documentation is necessary.
