Senior Network Engineer

This is a senior-level position within our Global Networks – Enterprise Network team, responsible for creating and improving network services and solutions to ensure the best experience for Marriott Associates and contractors.

The role involves designing, engineering, implementing, and optimizing LAN/WAN/WiFi networks for the Corporate Network product, adhering to architecture, security, privacy, compliance standards.

  • Network service and circuit capacity management
  • Project planning and delivery including hardware and software specification, vendor coordination, and operational turnover
  • Change planning and run book review
  • Governance of third-party service providers
  • Level 3 escalation support for operational issues and/or outages
  • Collaboration with Network Architects, Test and Certification, Information Security, Finance, Procurement teams

Key Skills:

  • 4+ years progressive experience in enterprise networking, wireless, SD-WAN, LAN infrastructure
  • Expertise in enterprise wireless protocols, RF site surveys, security best practices
  • Hands-on experience with Mist AI, Cisco Wireless, or equivalent
  • Strong understanding and implementation experience with Fabric-based LAN architectures (e.g., Cisco LAN Fabric)
  • Proficient in Layer 2/3 networking concepts, including VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, multicast
  • Skilled in network monitoring, diagnostics, and performance tools (e.g. Wireshark, Net Brain, Thousand Eyes)

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience creating or leveraging automation, AI and machine learning to deploy and manage networks
  • Development and deployment of virtualized network services
  • Understanding of cloud networking solutions and cloud interconnects

Education and Certifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent experience/certification
