Backend Software Architect

As a Backend Software Architect, you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing cutting-edge backend systems that support our maritime operations platform.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of backend services with frontend applications, databases, and other core systems. Your expertise in backend technologies will be instrumental in delivering high-performance and scalable solutions that meet the evolving needs of the maritime sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop modular, maintainable, and efficient software architecture.
  • Own the product lifecycle, from conceptualization through development and deployment.
  • Implement Test-Driven Development practices, including writing comprehensive unit tests, to ensure high-quality, reliable, and maintainable code.
  • Build reusable libraries to promote efficiency and consistency across projects.
  • Optimize applications for maximum performance, speed, and scalability.
  • Implement and enforce security best practices to safeguard sensitive information.
  • Maintain clear technical documentation for all systems and processes related to the products you own.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong programming foundation in Python, including debugging and performance analysis.
  • Experience in developing web applications and APIs (REST) and good knowledge of Django/Flask frameworks.
  • Expertise in secure software development and handling of sensitive data.
  • In-depth knowledge of Source Code Repository and experience working with Git.
  • Hands-on experience in DB design & Architecture with focus on performance.
  • Knowledge of caching techniques and utilities like Memcache/Redis.
  • Experience working on Apache/Nginx or any other web/app server.
  • Experience in containerization tool - Docker.
  • Hands-on experience in enterprise level deployment and scaling.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to effectively solve complex problems.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
