Job Title:

 

The ideal candidate for this role will possess a unique blend of technical expertise and creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and maintain PCB CAD libraries, generate footprints, and validate BOMs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain PCB CAD libraries including schematic symbols, footprints, and parametric data.
  • Create footprints for SMD, THT, connectors, and complex IC packages in accordance with IPC-7351 standards.
  • Validate BOMs, electrical attributes, package information, and component descriptions to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Process new part requests using PLM systems and maintain library updates to ensure seamless integration.
  • Cross-check datasheets, schematics, and footprints to guarantee precision in pin sequencing and package details.
  • Collaborate closely with design engineers, manufacturing teams, and suppliers to ensure manufacturability and compliance with industry standards.
  • Maintain detailed documentation, adhere to standard naming conventions, and ensure smooth library integration with ECAD/MCAD tools.

Required Skills & Tools:

  • CAD Tools: Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, Mentor Graphics Expedition, OrCAD/Capture CIS.
  • PLM Systems: Windchill, Target PLM, Teamcenter, Cockpit Server.
  • Standards & Compliance:
    • IPC-7351 for footprint creation and validation.
    • RoHS and REACH compliance understanding.
  • Library Management:
    • Creation and maintenance of schematic symbols, footprints, and 3D models.
    • BOM validation and part numbering systems.
    • Utilization of footprint calculators like LP Wizard and Footprint Expert.
