Job Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned Application Support Specialist to provide production support, issue resolution, monitoring, and minor enhancements for business-critical applications built on Progress OpenEdge (ABL/4GL).

  • Deliver L2/L3 support for applications developed using Progress OpenEdge.
  • Monitor application performance and ensure system availability, identifying potential bottlenecks and implementing fixes as needed.
  • Analyze and resolve incidents, service requests, and problem tickets within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions to recurring issues, leveraging expertise in troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques.
  • Manage batch processes, jobs, and scheduled tasks to optimize system efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with development teams to coordinate bug fixes, enhancements, and release deployments, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption to operations.
  • Support application upgrades, patches, and migration activities, maintaining accurate documentation of procedures and resolutions.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Progress OpenEdge (ABL/4GL) in a support environment, with a strong understanding of database concepts and performance optimization techniques.
  • Excellent knowledge of incident management, problem management, and change management principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with UNIX/Linux commands and scripting, with the ability to leverage these skills to automate repetitive tasks and improve system efficiency.
  • Experience working with ticketing tools, such as ServiceNow, JIRA, or Remedy, to track and manage incidents, problems, and changes.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
