Cloud Infrastructure Administrator

This position involves overseeing the administration and maintenance of AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations and optimal resource utilization. As a Cloud Infrastructure Administrator, you will be responsible for monitoring and managing EC2 instances, S3 buckets, VPCs, RDS databases, and Lambda functions.

You will develop and implement high-availability and disaster recovery solutions using backup software such as Veeam, AWS Snapshots, Commvault, and Backup Exec. This includes analyzing system performance, identifying trends, and implementing improvements to ensure cost efficiency and optimal resource utilization.

The role also involves overseeing automation scripts and tools for provisioning, configuration, and maintenance of cloud and on-premises resources. You will work with cross-functional teams to identify and address technical issues, providing technical guidance and support to junior support tiers and acting as an escalation resource for all technologies under the Platform Engineering umbrella.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in implementing and managing AWS cloud solutions
  • Minimum 2 years of experience administering Okta
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional certification highly preferred
Key Responsibilities
  1. Monitor and administer AWS cloud infrastructure, including EC2 instances, S3 buckets, VPCs, RDS databases, and Lambda functions
  2. Develop and maintain high-availability and disaster recovery solutions using backup software
  3. Oversee automation scripts and tools for provisioning, configuration, and maintenance of cloud and on-premises resources
  4. Analyze system performance, identify trends, and implement improvements to ensure cost efficiency and optimal resource utilization
  5. Implement security best practices and compliance standards to protect cloud environments

Preferred Qualifications

AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional certification is highly preferred, but not essential. Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and architectures, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS, is also desirable. Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation is beneficial.

Familiarity with networking concepts and technologies, including TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, and routing, is also advantageous. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in cloud environments, are essential for this role.

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment, are also required.
