Database Administrator Role

This is a highly technical position where the right candidate will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing database performance, managing Linux servers, implementing backup and recovery processes, and ensuring overall system reliability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Database Administration: Ensure efficient database management including installation, configuration, upgrades, replication setup/monitoring, and user management.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor database health, troubleshoot metadata locks, slow queries, replication lag, and optimize performance to improve system efficiency.
  • Linux Server Management: Manage Linux servers to maintain a stable environment, including user management, process monitoring, cron jobs, package updates, and system resource checks.
  • Backup and Recovery: Implement and monitor backup and recovery processes using tools like mysqldump or Percona XtraBackup to prevent data loss.
  • Routine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and security hardening for MySQL and Linux environments to ensure data integrity and security.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues; escalate complex problems to the next level with proper root cause analysis inputs.
  • Disaster Recovery and Capacity Planning: Participate in disaster recovery drills, capacity planning, and system audits to improve overall system reliability.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Develop and maintain runbooks, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base documentation for efficient troubleshooting and knowledge sharing.
