Project Design Lead

This is a high-level role within our team responsible for leading project delivery under the supervision of senior or project engineers. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in building structure design and possess significant experience in a similar role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop feasibility study reports to meet brief requirements in an agreed format.
  • Work with the team to assemble a design specification compliant with employer's requirements.
  • Agree and monitor scope of works with stakeholders.
  • Define building requirements and purpose of use with stakeholders.
  • Carry out detailed design to WSP and B Regulations standard.
  • Review and monitor calculation production.
  • Ensure information for project costing preparation is completed in detail and on time.
  • Provide documentary information to assist in tender document preparation.
  • Coordinate project contract documents and review input from team members.
  • Address day-to-day queries from the team, ensuring relevant information is available on time for construction activities.
  • Report any variance between constructed works and design intent.
  • Project manage commissions using applicable project management tools.
  • Lead the design process and encourage team members to deliver appropriate and cost-effective solutions within the agreed program.
  • Fully follow document control, archiving CDM, and QA processes.


Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in building structure design.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Full proficiency in technical structural software.
  • A sound understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Project.
  • Fluency in English with an excellent understanding of technical terminology.
