Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer, SRE to join our team.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, scalability, and operational excellence of accounting and finance platforms.

  • Operational Oversight: The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations for accounting and finance applications and data platforms, ensuring they run smoothly and meet business expectations.
  • Reliability & Availability: The Principal Engineer, SRE will ensure that accounting and finance platforms meet defined service level agreements (SLAs), service level objectives (SLOs), and service level indicators (SLIs) for performance, reliability, and uptime.
  • Automation & Efficiency: The successful candidate will build automation for deployments, monitoring, scaling, and self-healing capabilities to reduce manual effort and operational risk.
  • Observability & Monitoring: The incumbent will implement and maintain comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and logging for accounting applications and data pipelines (e.g., Snowflake, dbt workflows, ERP integrations).
  • Incident Response: The Principal Engineer, SRE will lead and participate in on-call rotations, perform root cause analysis, and drive improvements to prevent recurrence of production issues.
  • Operational Excellence: The successful candidate will establish and enforce best practices for capacity planning, performance tuning, disaster recovery, and compliance controls in financial systems.
  • Collaboration with Engineering & Finance: The Principal Engineer, SRE will partner with software engineers, data engineers, and finance/accounting teams to ensure operational needs are met from development through production.
  • Team Coordination: The incumbent will manage workload, priorities, and escalations for operations staff and partner teams, ensuring alignment with SLAs and compliance requirements.
  • Security & Compliance: The Principal Engineer, SRE will ensure that financial applications and data pipelines meet audit, compliance, and security requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: The successful candidate will drive post-incident reviews, implement lessons learned, and proactively identify opportunities to improve system resilience.
  • Audit & Compliance Support: The Principal Engineer, SRE will ensure that operational practices meet internal controls, audit requirements, and financial compliance standards.
Requirements:
  • Skillset: The successful candidate must have strong technical skills in engineering and architecture, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field is required.
  • Education: A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is required.
