Database Administrator Position

We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to fill the role of Database Administrator.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Error Monitoring: The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring generated logs and event files to identify potential errors that may lead to incidents.
  • Database Availability: They will ensure database availability by performing regular monitoring tasks and implementing solutions to maintain optimal system performance.
  • Log Replication: The ideal candidate will oversee database log replication, ensuring it functions correctly and reporting on its status as per agreed schedules.
  • Performance Tuning: They will monitor session, query, log, and latch performance to identify potential issues and implement resolutions to optimize database performance.
  • System Maintenance: Regularly purging database logs and trace files to maintain optimal system performance is a critical responsibility.
  • Configuration Management: The successful candidate will review and recommend configuration changes to ensure consistent configurations across the database environment.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Producing monthly reports on database availability and providing recommendations for improvement is essential.
  • Troubleshooting: The ideal candidate will use trend analysis to identify and manage problems, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on business operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Team Leadership: Experience in team management is essential for this role.
  • Database Knowledge: Strong knowledge of database installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance is required.
  • Cluster Configuration: Always ON Cluster configuration and management, as well as Failover Cluster Management, are critical skills for this position.
  • Security and Compliance: Databases must be patched and hardened regularly to ensure security and compliance.
  • Project Planning: Able to plan and execute new projects related to database administration.
  • Problem-Solving: Proficient in troubleshooting database performance issues.
