Senior Storage Tank Designer & Checker

We are seeking a skilled Senior Storage Tank Designer & Checker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality engineering deliverables, including drawings, material take offs, checklists, and deliverables lists, for the execution of storage tank, sphere, and low-temperature and cryogenic tank projects.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of detailing experience with flat-bottom tanks, spheres, and low-temperature and cryogenic storage tank projects, including at least 5 years in a checker role. Alternatively, 15 years of experience in the production of drawings for pressure vessels or other plate structures may be considered.

The selected candidate will work closely with RE/Lead Engineer in the production of detailed drawings from design sketches and utilize 2D and/or 3D CAD to generate fabrication and installation drawings. They will also generate and check engineering deliverables, assist in the development and maintenance of Tank Business Line detailing standards and practices, and review and interpret project specifications and incorporate them into deliverables.

In addition, the successful candidate will provide guidance to less-experienced designers on the detailing team and work as part of a team to communicate work status regularly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce high-quality engineering deliverables, including drawings, material take offs, checklists, and deliverables lists.
  • Work closely with RE/Lead Engineer in the production of detailed drawings from design sketches.
  • Utilize 2D and/or 3D CAD to generate fabrication and installation drawings.
  • Generate and check engineering deliverables.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of Tank Business Line detailing standards and practices.
  • Review and interpret project specifications and incorporate them into deliverables.
  • Provide guidance to less-experienced designers on the detailing team.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 15 years of detailing experience with flat-bottom tanks, spheres, and low-temperature and cryogenic storage tank projects, including at least 5 years in a checker role.
  • Alternatively, 15 years of experience in the production of drawings for pressure vessels or other plate structures may be considered.
  • A high proficiency in the use of 2D detailing tools, MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office tools.
  • Diploma or equivalent in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
