Job Description:

The Cloud Architect is responsible for designing, implementing and managing scalable, secure and cost-effective cloud solutions. This role involves collaborating with development, operations and security teams to ensure optimal cloud infrastructure that aligns with business objectives.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP), infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and cloud security best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cloud Strategy & Design :
    - Develop and implement cloud architecture frameworks, best practices and standards.
    - Design highly available, scalable and fault-tolerant cloud solutions.
    - Evaluate and recommend cloud services, tools and migration strategies.
  • Migration :
    - Lead cloud migration initiatives (lift-and-shift, re-platforming, refactoring).
    - Automate cloud deployments using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation or ARM templates.
    - Optimize cloud workloads for performance, cost and security.
  • Security & Compliance :
    - Ensure cloud environments adhere to security policies, compliance standards (GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2) and industry best practices.
    - Implement identity and access management (IAM), encryption and network security controls.
  • Collaboration & Leadership :
    - Work closely with DevOps, software engineering and security teams to align cloud strategies with business goals.
    - Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership in cloud adoption.
    - Conduct cloud training sessions for internal teams.
  • Monitoring & Optimization :
    - Establish cloud monitoring, logging and alerting solutions (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor).
    - Continuously optimize cloud costs through rightsizing, reserved instances and spot instances.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

  • Education : Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT or related field (Masters preferred).
  • Experience :
    - 7+ years in IT infrastructure, cloud engineering or solutions architecture.
    - 3+ years as a Cloud Architect with hands-on experience in AWS, Azure or GCP.
  • Technical Skills :
    - Expertise in cloud services (compute, storage, networking, databases).
    - Proficiency in IaC (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
    - Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
    - Understanding of cloud security frameworks and compliance.
    - Strong knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless computing (Preferred).
