Freelance Cloud Data Architect

We're seeking a Freelance Data Architect to design, implement and govern data models across cloud platforms. The ideal candidate will have expertise in SQL Data Warehouses, Databricks Delta Lakehouse, and other MPP databases.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Data Modelling: Independently design and deliver conceptual, logical, and physical data models for cloud and on-premises platforms.
  • Data Governance: Govern data design and modelling by documenting metadata, business definitions, and constructing database objects.
  • Domain Knowledge: Build a deep understanding of enterprise business domains (Customer, Sales, Finance, Supplier, Technology Inventory) to create scalable and reusable data solutions.
  • Collaboration: Lead collaborative reviews of data model design, security, and code to ensure alignment with data product development.

The successful candidate will have strong proficiency with data modelling tools, experience in domain-specific data modelling, hands-on expertise with MPP databases, and experience with GitHub or other version control systems.

Requirements:
  • Data Modelling Tools: Strong proficiency with data modelling tools (ER/Studio, Erwin, IDM/ARDM).
  • MPP Database Experience: Hands-on expertise with at least one MPP database technology (Databricks Lakehouse, Redshift, Synapse, Teradata, Snowflake).
  • Version Control: Experience with GitHub or other version control systems, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation.
