Cloud Data Architect

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Data Architect to join our organization. As a Cloud Data Architect, you will play a key role in designing and implementing scalable cloud data environments using big data technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end project execution from opportunity identification to closure, owning technical delivery and stakeholder engagement.
  • Respond to RFIs/RFPs with detailed solution designs and cost estimates.
  • Collaborate on Statements of Work (SoWs), project roadmaps, and technical scoping documents.
  • Plan and manage sprint deliveries, estimate effort, identify risks, and provide ongoing technical support.
  • Write comprehensive technical documentation aligned with customer requirements.
  • Evaluate and ensure adherence to coding standards, conduct code reviews, and drive best practices.
  • Mentor and lead project teams, adapting priorities in a dynamic environment.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years in Data & Analytics, including at least 3 years with Big Data technologies.
  • Minimum 2 years experience with Cloud Data services on Azure, AWS, or GCP, including Databricks.
  • Hands-on expertise with Big Data ecosystem: HDFS, Spark, Hadoop, MapReduce, Sqoop, Pig, Hive, HBase, Flume, Kafka.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or HBase.
  • Skilled in job scheduling tools like Oozie or Airflow.
  • Proven experience in migrating and re-architecting on-premise data warehouses to cloud platforms using native or third-party services.
  • Proficiency in building production-grade data pipelines using Java, Python, Scala, and Delta Lake.
  • Strong background in designing cloud-native data analytics solutions.
  • Expertise in requirements analysis, solution architecture, data modeling, ETL, integration, and migration design.
  • Familiarity with project methodologies such as Waterfall, Agile, and Scrum.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred / Nice to Have:

  • Experience with MDM/DQM/Data Governance tools like Collibra, Ataccama, Alation, or Reltio.
  • Certifications in Databricks, Spark, or cloud data technologies.
  • Experience with Snowflake and reporting tools like Power BI or Tableau.
  • Knowledge of Unix/Linux environments.
