System Analyst

System Analysis and Support Role

The successful candidate will provide systems analysis and software support to the business units, ensuring that all issues are identified, documented, and resolved within appropriate timeframes. This role requires working with the project team to prepare functional requirements, feasibility studies, program specifications, user test plans, user documentation, and user training plans.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Function as an internal consultant for the applications support team for design review and quality, ensuring that the product meets both time-to-market and quality standards.
  • Work with the Solution Architect to analyze new solutions and check for compliance with bank policies.
  • Develop design and functional specifications, produce deliverables related to assigned projects, and assist in post-implementation support and system improvements.
  • Identify business needs of assigned user areas and translate these needs into system specifications.
  • Conduct user interviews, contact vendors, and perform independent research as required. Identify and assist in resolving system, procedural or operational problems and make recommendations to improve business functions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and bank policies and procedures.
  • Prepare formal proposals for management, recommending system solutions.
  • Help define project scope and objectives for projects.
  • Develop systems solutions requiring analysis and research.
  • Work on moderate to complex projects that require increased skill in multiple technical environments and possess knowledge in a specific business area.
  • Work on one or more projects as a project team member or sometimes as a project lead. May coach junior technical staff.


Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Overall 6-8 years experience in IT in application development and maintenance (support)
  • 4+ years experience in .Net/Java, MS SQL Server, Oracle, Apache/IIS
  • Experience in stakeholder management and building excellent professional relationships
  • Previous Banking Domain experience is a plus
  • Experience of working with an agile methodology would be an advantage
  • Experience of liaison with other departments (i.e. business units, infrastructure teams, audit) across multiple countries
  • Experience in working with remote client and vendor resources
  • Experience in identifying and documenting client technical needs, internal structures, procedures, workflows and systems
  • Beneficial to have experience working on projects requiring data analysis
  • Proven track record of delivering projects in a challenging environment
  • Good written and oral communication
  • Flexible - keen to learn new technologies and to extend business domain knowledge
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrable success in meeting deadlines and operating with clients and vendors
  • Work to schedules, potentially across multiple projects and teams
  • Pragmatic yet showing a high attention to detail


Education/Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or any other relevant field. An equivalent of the same in working experience is also acceptable for this position
