Emerging Business Opportunities Key Responsibilities:

Serve as a key innovator in identifying and capitalizing on emerging business opportunities within the IoT ecosystem. Conduct continuous scanning of industry trends, new technologies, and market landscapes to uncover novel revenue streams.

  • Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify areas with high growth potential and untapped markets.
  • Develop and present strategic reports outlining the feasibility of new business ventures and long-term market projections.
Market Validation & Feasibility Assessment

Utilize expert-level analytical skills to evaluate the commercial viability of emerging business opportunities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and execute validation processes, leveraging primary customer research, competitive analysis, and prototype testing.

  • Develop robust financial models and business cases to assess market size, ROI, and strategic value.
  • Lead the incubation phase for validated opportunities, defining initial product-market fit, building MVPs or prototypes, and running pilot programs with early customers.
Strategic Incubation & Business Building

Build and leverage an extensive network of external contacts to stay ahead of emerging innovation and potential partnership opportunities. Clearly and persuasively communicate findings, recommendations, and progress to senior leadership to inform strategic investment decisions.

  • Engage with startups, academics, industry experts, and venture capitalists to foster partnerships and collaborations.
Requirements:

Achieve success by meeting these fundamental qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is highly valued.
  • 5+ years of experience in a strategy role such as corporate strategy, venture capital, management consulting, product management, or business development within a technology context.
  • Proven expertise in market analysis, new venture development, or managing early-stage innovation projects.
  • Deep understanding of the IoT technology stack, competitive landscape, and key market drivers.
  • Superior analytical and financial modeling skills, with experience building business cases from scratch.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and ability to thrive in ambiguity, developing structure around poorly defined problems.
  • Outstanding communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
Preferred:

Experience taking a new product or business from concept through to launch is a valuable asset.
