Our team is seeking a seasoned Technical Leader to spearhead the development of core infrastructure and performance optimization for the YouTube Create app. This individual will be responsible for driving technical strategy, leading project teams, and fostering a culture of excellence.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor a team of Android and iOS engineers in developing high-performance mobile applications.
  • Drive technical direction and strategy for core infrastructure and performance optimization.
  • Implement and maintain instrumentation, profiling, and monitoring systems to track performance metrics.
  • Oversee the development lifecycle for core infrastructure and performance-related features.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration with broader platform initiatives.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in software development, with 3+ years in a technical leadership role.
  • Proven expertise in video encoding, decoding, and transcoding.
  • Experience with GPU-based media processing and large-scale mobile applications.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud solutions and complex architectures.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience architecting and developing cloud solutions to ambiguous problems.
  • Leadership experience in people management, supervision, and team leadership.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
