Job Overview:

Goldman Sachs is seeking an experienced Strategic Operations Leader to join our Retail Separately Managed Account (SMA) Oversight team in Bengaluru.

About the Role:

This is a highly collaborative role that requires the capability to work effectively with a diverse range of professionals both internally and externally, covering a wide variety of products and functions. The principal areas of responsibility will be:

  • To manage a group of analysts and associates supporting the SMA business and managing risk for the team.
  • To establish best-in-class operating and service models for SMAs, focusing on scale and streamlining processes.
  • To provide thought leadership on the broader operational business plan and strategy.
  • To oversee key initiatives and features across Operations, making informed trade-offs between new feature development, operational risk, and scale.
  • To establish and monitor operational KPIs and deliver on critical OKRs.
  • To lead the governance structures required for cross-functional SMA project teams across various Ops stakeholders.
  • To influence senior leaders' decision-making and investment.
  • To support the addition of new sponsors and platforms for business growth.
  • To provide trading desk support, including ad-hoc queries and ongoing business initiatives.

Bonus Process Support:

The team will coordinate with portfolio managers on cash funding, withdrawals, trading requests, and account attribute changes. They will also assist in launching new products and instruments.

Risk Management Focus:

The candidate should have a risk management focus, demonstrating diligence and ability to work under pressure to provide practical solutions. They should be able to partner across product groups, regions, and functional responsibilities, being highly collaborative and a strong consensus builder.

Estimated Salary:$160,000 - $220,000 per year

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 8+ years of experience in asset management, preferably in leading large teams and driving change.
  • Strong analytical thinking, facilitation, and data-gathering skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Strong people management and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as web-based applications.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both written and oral.
