Job Title: Payables Leader

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Payables Leader to oversee the accounts payable function, manage vendor payments, and lead a high-performing team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing payables policies and procedures, managing vendor relationships, and maintaining accurate records and reconciliations.

Responsibilities
  1. Oversee Timely Payments: Ensure timely and accurate processing of all payments, vendor invoices, and expense reports.
  2. Develop Payables Policies: Develop, implement, and monitor payables policies and procedures for efficiency, compliance, and control.
  3. Lead Accounts Payable Team: Lead and motivate a high-performing accounts payable team, including hiring, training, goal setting, and ongoing development.
  4. Manage Vendor Relationships: Manage vendor relationships and resolve payment disputes or queries.
  5. Maintain Accurate Records: Maintain accurate records and reconciliations; oversee month-end and year-end closing processes for payables.
  6. Optimize Payables Processes: Optimize payables processes, automation, and risk prevention controls.
  7. Analyze Payables Metrics: Prepare, analyze, and report on payables metrics: aging, cash flow, forecasts, and performance.
  8. Collaborate with Teams: Coordinate with procurement, treasury, and accounting teams to ensure alignment and timely payments.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CA/MBA preferred.
  • Experience: 7+ years of accounts payable experience with at least 3 years in a managerial/supervisory role.
  • Skills: Strong expertise in payables processes, team leadership, and compliance management; proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and advanced MS Excel.
