Senior Database Administrator

We are seeking a skilled and experienced individual to administer multiple Oracle and SQL Server databases in a distributed environment.

The successful candidate will provide user support, training, and technical guidance to the IT department, as well as coordinate with vendors, conduct knowledge transfer sessions, and follow departmental processes.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in Oracle database architecture, installation, troubleshooting, monitoring, and administration, as well as experience with production critical/multi-terabyte Oracle Databases - 11g/10g administration, monitoring, proactive health check of the database.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and Training:
    • Providing User Support (24x7) Hours – On Call
    • Problem Escalation to Corporate Team and Third Parties as Appropriate
    • Identifying and Resolving Database Related Issues
    • Conducting Period Health Checks on DBs
  • Coordination with Vendor:
    • Coordinating with Vendor about Any New Patches with Respect to DB as Well as Applications, New Requirement and Bugs within Specified Timeline
  • Knowledge Transfer:
    • Providing Technical Training to Peers and Subordinates within IT Department
  • Release Deployment:
    • Testing Product Patches Released by Vendor and Track Issues till Closure
    • Supporting User Acceptance Testing for New Features/Functionalities Added in HIS and Related Systems
  • Following Departmental Processes:
    • Maintaining Tracker of Issues Reported on Day to Day
    • Maintaining Approval Records
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Willingness to Travel Across Group of Hospitals on Short Term or Long Term Basis
    • Healthcare Knowledge is Desirable
  • Key Skills:
    • Understanding of Oracle Database Architecture Along with Cloning, Patching, and Upgrade
    • Expertise in Installation/Troubleshooting/Monitoring of Oracle Golden Gate – 11g Bidirectional Replication
    • Experience with Production Critical/Multi-Terabyte Oracle Databases – 11g/10g Administration, Monitoring, Proactive Health Check of Database
    • Administration of Oracle Partitioned Tables and Their Maintenance
    • Proficiency in Security Administration Like Auditing, Creating Users, Roles, Profiles, Assigning Object Level and Column Level Grants, Controlling Users Access to System Resources etc.
    • Basic UNIX Shell Commands and Scripting [ssh, vi, grep, sed, awk]
