Job Description:

Position Purpose

The role of a Site Reliability Engineer is to implement technical and functional requirements of application development while reducing package delivery toil.

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities
  • Provide backend support for applications developed on Java, Oracle, Unix, IBM WebSphere, Apache Tomcat, etc. and experience with interface technologies such as CFT, MQ, Apigee, APIs, etc.
  • Develop CI/CD solutions using DevOps tools like Jenkins, Ansible, Git, Sonar, etc.
  • Experience in developing and deploying spark applications and deployment on Kubernetes clusters.
  • Hands-on development experience with Java and working knowledge on Angular and DB services.
  • Support release cycles for major/minor/hot fixes releases and troubleshoot incidents in development and production environments.
  • Experience in health checks, monitoring, batch monitoring, self-healing, etc.
  • Exposure to Dynatrace, OpenSearch, and managing IBM WebSphere console for existing/new applications.
  • Write and execute simple SQL queries and experience with migration tools such as RMAN Backup, DBLINK, Data pump, etc.
Contributing Responsibilities

Gain functional knowledge on applications worked upon.

Create knowledge repositories for future reference and reusability.

Discuss with Team Lead and take decisions based on situation.

Evaluate new tools and come up with POCs.

Maintain professional and non-hostile environment on floor.

  • Effectively communicate overall delivery status.
  • Have excellent communication, negotiation, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Technical & Behavioral Competencies

As a DevOps Engineer specializing in Kubernetes infrastructure and cluster management, you will be responsible for the following:

Design and implement Kubernetes infrastructure to support applications and services with high availability, reliability, and performance.

Manage Kubernetes clusters by setting up, configuring, and maintaining them. Monitor cluster health, performance, and security to optimize operations.

Automate deployment processes by implementing CI/CD pipelines to automate application and service deployment on Kubernetes clusters using workflow tools like Jenkins and GitLab.

Collaborate with development teams to understand their requirements and provide Kubernetes-based solutions. Assist in containerizing applications and optimizing resource utilization.

Monitor and troubleshoot clusters for potential issues. Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related problems promptly to minimize downtime.

Ensure security and compliance by implementing security best practices and ensuring industry standards. Manage access controls, network policies, and encryption for Kubernetes clusters.

Document and train team members on best practices and usage guidelines.

Stay updated with industry trends, tools, and technologies in Kubernetes and DevOps. Continuously improve infrastructure by integrating new advancements.
