Role Overview

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer with broad knowledge of multi-cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and strong experience in modern DevOps practices. This role requires expertise in CI/CD, automation, container orchestration, infrastructure as code, observability, and cloud security, along with the ability to adapt to different cloud provider environments.

You will work closely with cloud architects, developers, and security teams to design and deliver scalable, secure, and cost-optimized deployments while supporting both on-premises and cloud-native workloads. The role also offers opportunities to participate in solution design workshops and pre-sales technical discussions.

Key Responsibilities

1. CI/CD Pipeline Development

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions.
• Integrate automated unit, integration, security, and performance testing into pipelines.
• Ensure pipelines support multi-environment deployments across cloud platforms.

2. Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

• Provision infrastructure using Terraform (preferred) or equivalent IaC tools across Azure, AWS, and GCP.
• Maintain reusable, modular IaC templates and enforce version control practices.
• Support hybrid infrastructure deployments and configuration management.

3. Containerization & Orchestration

• Package applications using Docker and deploy to Kubernetes clusters (AKS, EKS, GKE).
• Manage Helm charts, service discovery, scaling, and rolling updates.
• Implement service mesh where needed (Istio, Linkerd) for traffic control and observability.

4. Cloud Operations & Security

• Configure IAM, RBAC, and security policies across multi-cloud environments.
• Manage secrets using Azure Key Vault, AWS Secrets Manager, or HashiCorp Vault.
• Implement vulnerability scanning and compliance checks (CIS, NIST, ISO) in pipelines.
• Design and test high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) strategies.

5. Monitoring, Logging & Observability

• Implement monitoring and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, and cloud-native tools (Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch, GCP Operations).
• Configure centralized logging (ELK Stack, Splunk) and distributed tracing (OpenTelemetry, Jaeger).
• Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.

6. Cost Optimization & Governance

• Monitor and analyse cloud resource usage to recommend cost-saving measures.
• Implement automation for scaling resources up or down based on demand.
• Support tagging strategies and governance policies for cost tracking.

7. Consulting & Collaboration

• Participate in technical discovery sessions and contribute to solution architecture discussions.
• Provide guidance to development teams on DevOps best practices.
• Support proposal preparation with technical inputs when required.

Required Skills

• Working knowledge of Azure, AWS, and GCP core services (compute, storage, networking, IAM).
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab, or GitHub Actions).
• Proficiency in Terraform for IaC.
• Docker and Kubernetes experience in at least one major cloud.
• Linux system administration and shell scripting.
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools.

Preferred Skills

• Advanced T-SQL and scripting skills in Python or Bash for automation.
• Hybrid and multi-cloud networking (VPN, peering, private endpoints).
• Configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, or Puppet).
• Serverless deployments (Azure Functions, AWS Lambda, Google Cloud Functions).
• Relevant certifications: AZ-400, AWS DevOps Engineer, Google Professional DevOps Engineer (or willingness to achieve).

Success in the First 6 Months

• Deliver a production-ready CI/CD pipeline for a multi-cloud application.
• Deploy infrastructure via Terraform in at least two different clouds.
• Implement a centralized observability stack (monitoring, logging, tracing).
• Complete at least one DR test and cost optimization review.
