Job Description

As a Principal Site Reliability Developer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end ownership of a collection of services and/or technology areas. You will have a deep understanding of the technical dependencies and behavioral characteristics of production services and will be able to articulate technical characteristics of services and technology areas to guide Development Teams in engineering and adding premier capabilities to the Oracle Cloud service portfolio.

You will also partner with development teams in defining and implementing improvements in service architecture, demonstrate a clear understanding of automation and orchestration principles, and act as an ultimate escalation point for complex or critical issues that have not yet been documented as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 12+ years of hands-on experience for customer-facing data platform products
  • Attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
  • Hands-on experience with databases, including database administration, DB internals, testing critical security and database fixes
  • Strong core DBA skills, including RMAN, Data Guard, and Real Application Cluster (RAC)
  • Experience with writing and publishing technical white papers
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
  • Experience with Massively Parallel Processing systems
  • Experience with technologies like high availability, backup/recovery, disaster/recovery

Key Responsibilities

  • SRE support
  • Work with customers, partners, sales, and support teams to ensure successful product adoption by customers
  • Creating demos to showcase product capabilities for customers as well as teams inside Oracle
  • Collaborate with Dev, QA, and documentation teams
  • Proactively identify and resolve risks and issues that may dent customer's ability to execute

$150,000 - $200,000 per year
