Job Title: Senior AS/400 Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled AS/400 developer to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with a passion for programming and problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain applications on the IBM AS/400 platform using RPG, CL, and other related languages.
  • Collaborate closely with business analysts and technical teams to deliver efficient and reliable solutions that meet core business requirements.
  • Develop technical specifications and programs based on business requirements.
  • Enhance existing applications, optimize code for performance improvements, and debug issues reported in production and development environments.
  • Work with DB2/400 database, write efficient SQL queries, and manage data access.
  • Participate in system design, code reviews, and technical documentation preparation.
  • Support batch and online applications, ensuring timely processing and data integrity.
  • Collaborate with other developers, business analysts, and users to ensure seamless application functionality.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • 4 to 5 years of experience programming on IBM AS/400 (IBM i) platform.
  • Strong expertise in RPG (ILE RPG), CL programming, and DDS for screen and report design.
  • Good understanding of DB2/400 database and proficiency in SQL.
  • Familiarity with batch processing, job scheduling, and spool file handling.
  • Experience with debugging and performance tuning of AS/400 applications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Good communication skills to interact with technical teams and business users.
Preferred Skills (Good to Have):
  • Experience with SQLRPGLE and ILE programming concepts.
  • Knowledge of integrating AS/400 systems with modern technologies (APIs, web services).
  • Exposure to modernization tools or techniques (like Synon, Java integration).
  • Experience in Agile or Scrum methodologies.
