Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Purchasing Specialist to contribute to our divisional Buying and Merchandising strategy. This role involves working within this strategy at all times, focusing on finding the best resources at the best prices to ensure high-quality and cost-effective products for respective brands.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Product Sourcing: Develop and source the right product at the right time to meet customer requirements.
  • Sourcing Optimization: Maximize current sourcing channels and identify new opportunities.
  • Negotiation and Supply Chain Management: Support negotiations and work with the supply base to ensure optimal pricing and margins.
  • Collaboration and Research: Work closely with designers on developing styles, design research trips, fabric & print advice, and informing best sellers for move-on styles.
  • Inventory Management: Manage stock, style options, quantities, promotions, and markdowns in collaboration with the merchandising team.
  • Market Intelligence: Keep track of competitor activities through market research activities to understand trends, forecasting, and color, fabric, etc.
  • Product Presentation and Development: Product presentation, packaging, and product development, and developing promotional plans.
  • Seasonal Planning: Reviewing and adjusting season plans and weekly plans.
  • Vendor Development: Vendor identification and development.
  • Range Merchandise Negotiation: Obtaining range merchandise after effective negotiation.
  • Sample Delivery: Ensuring timely delivery of samples by vendors.
  • Quality Assurance: Setting standards for quality of merchandise with QA.
  • Financial Reconciliation: Reconciling to store plans and fixing departmental financial plans.
  • Supplier Performance Review: Conducting the annual review of supplier performance with QA.
