Job Title:

The Chief Information Officer oversees the operation of a university's technology infrastructure and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • IT Operations & Support:
    • Ensure daily IT operations, including network availability, server performance, and system uptime.
    • Provide advanced technical support for hardware (desktops, laptops, servers, printers) and software issues.
    • Manage day-to-day IT tasks and user requests.
    • Implement and manage software deployment, updates, and patching across systems.
  • Network & Infrastructure Management:
    • Administer and maintain wired and wireless networks (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi access points, routers, switches).
    • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
    • Manage and maintain server infrastructure.
    • Oversee data backup and recovery operations.
  • Software & System Administration:
    • Administer and support key university applications, including Learning Management Systems, Enterprise Resource Planning systems, Student Information Systems, and other academic/administrative software.
    • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
  • Audit-Video and Event Support:
    • Set up, configure, and troubleshoot audio and video systems in classrooms, conference rooms, and auditoriums.
    • Provide dedicated IT support for internal and external events.
  • Cybersecurity & Data Protection:
    • Implement and enforce IT security policies to protect university data and systems from threats.
    • Monitor security alerts and respond to security incidents.
    • Promote cybersecurity awareness among users.
  • Project Management & Coordination:
    • Lead or assist in planning, executing, and completing IT projects.
    • Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive IT documentation.
    • Generate regular reports on IT performance and project progress.
