Senior Structural Design Lead

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Structural Design Lead to join our team. This role is a senior position focused on production and collaboration with our colleagues.

As a Senior Structural Design Lead, you will mentor and coach junior team members, leading the design process and encouraging the team to deliver cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop feasibility study reports to meet client requirements, reviewing them with the Local Head of Structures.
  • Collaborate with the WSP India team to create design specifications that meet employer needs, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Affirm and monitor project scope with the Local Head of Structures.
  • Define building requirements and purposes with the Local Head of Structures and WSP India team for detailed design.
  • Perform detailed designs according to client needs, adhering to standard codes, QA, and technical reviews.
  • Review and monitor calculations, including QA and technical reviews.
  • Ensure project costing preparation information is complete and accurate, keeping the WSP India team informed about design progress.
  • Coordinate project contracts documents and review team input.
  • Lead the design process and encourage the team to deliver cost-effective solutions.
  • Follow document control and QA processes, ensuring proper filing and coaching junior staff.
  • Manage a team of Engineers and Revit Technicians.
Required Skills
  • Proven experience in building structure design with significant experience in a similar role or a good track record.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in technical structural software, such as RAM, CSC, ETABS, SAFE, and STAAD.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Fluent English with excellent technical terminology knowledge.
  • Good management, communication, and technical skills.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Membership to an accredited engineering body.
  • Desirable: British Chartered Engineer status or equivalent.
  • Experience: 12+ years.
